No security clearance hindering restoration of electricity tower


QUETTA, (agencies): Failure to achieve security clearance is hindering the restoration, repairs of recently destroyed electricity tower in Bolan, creating a 1380 MW shortfall in 17 districts of Balochistan.
Unknown persons had blown four towers of 132 Kv, 220 Kv electricity tower at Bibi Nani, located between Sibi and Machh on Wednesday-Thursday midnight, plunging 17 districts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Mastung, Qalat, Qila Abdullah, Naushki, Chagi , Ziarat and others into utter

darkness.
Currently the Provincial shortfall stands at 1380 MWs, compared to a total demand of 1620 MWs. Only 340MWs of electricity was providing electricity to the Province, while Quetta City had to seek respite from alternate means and privately owned power houses of Habib ullah Coastal Power House and QESCO’s (Quetta Electricity Supply Company) Sheikh Manda Thermal.
The remaining districts are being supplied periodical electricity, at every alternate hour through district, agro and rural regions.
Masses have strongly demanded for rectification of the situation, besides taking stringent security measures.
