Suicide attack on Chaman border crossing kills one, wounds 10

Chaman, (By Our Reporter): A suicide bomber attacked a border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Monday, killing one man while 10 other including a senior Pakistani security official wounded in attack, officials said.
According to officials, the incident happened on the Pakistan side of the border.
The attacker blew himself up near Pakistan’s custom office, mosque and Nato terminal at border crossing.
Officials said one killed in Monday blast while Pakistan’s FIA personnel were among 10 injured.
The condition of five of the injured persons was stated to be serious and they were rushed to
bordering town of Chaman for medical treatment.
Frontier Corps (paramilitary force) immediately cordon off whole area.
The Pak-Afghan border at Chaman was immediately closed following the blast while Nato supplies were also suspended immediately after blast.
After border crossing suicide attack, another blast occurred near Lavis Line (paramilitary force headquarter) in Chaman which damaged boundary wall however no life lose reported in second blast.
Later, FC persons were called at the border to control the situation. Moreover, security was tightened on both sides of the border to avert another untoward incident.
Earlier on July 6, six Afghan officials, including border commander were killed and 19 others injured in suicide blast at same border crossing but inside Afghan territory.
Chaman is a small town in the southwestern province of Balochistan and is one of the two main crossing points for supplies for American and Nato troops fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
