Govt to provide electricity to the poor on subsidized rates: Asif

ISLAMABAD : Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif said that the government plans to provide electricity to the poor on subsidized rates.
In an interview‚ he said the domestic consumers would not be burdened by increasing electricity tariff.
The Minister said steps are being taken on war-footing to overcome load-shedding as soon as possible.
He said energy saver bulbs would be distributed
among masses to save electricity.
He hoped that country would be capable to generate 40‚000 megawatts electricity in 2025.
Meanwhile‚ talking to a delegation of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry‚ the Minister said uninterrupted power supply to industries is priority of the government.
He said separate feeders will be established for supply of electricity to the industry.
