“We have not even imagined to impose governor rule in Sindh”: Chaudhry Nisar

KARACHI, (by monitoring desk): Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said “we have  not even imagined of slapping  governor rule in Sindh and it is not known why such reports are coming in the media.
“ I had said we give one month to provincial government to improve situation. Reports on governor rule have started coming to fore following this statement  while we have not even made any mention about it any where. It is not known as to why such things are finding way to  the media”, he said this while talking to media men on his arrival at Karachi airport Monday.
“My aim  to visit Karachi is to make consultations with governor, chief minister and  chiefs of armed forces.

Situation in Karachi is deteriorating since the last several years. No improvement has been witnessed in this regard even after the few weeks of installation of new government therein. The major objective of coming here is to   become aware of prevailing situation of Karachi. Assurance will be extended to the provincial government of all possible cooperation by the federal government. The basic thing is this that situation of Karachi should be normalized as it impacts the entire country. Running the affairs in slack posture remains no more possible now.   I will talk in details after meetings”, he remarked.
Responding to a question he said responsibility of maintaining law and order situation rests with the provincial government. “If federal government has any  powers with regard to this matter  then I be told”, he held.
About change in governors he said some names have been determined during consultative meeting held under the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Announcement in this regard will be made at opportune time, he added.
“I will meet Pir Pagara with reference to presidential candidate. Name of candidate for the office of president will be announced within two or three days, he stated.
Replying to a question about British government contact in connection with MQM leader Farooq Imran murder case he said British government had not made any contact so far.
