Presidential slot: PPP asks Q-league to drop Mandokhel's name


KARACHI (monitoring desk) – The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has requested Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) to withdraw its candidate in favor of PPP nominated candidate Raza Rabbani for the slot of presidency.
PPP leader AminFaheem held a telephonic conversation with PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Sunday, requesting him to vote for their candidate Raza Rabbani and withdraw the name of Senator Syed Mandokhel.
According to sources, it was earlier decided between the two parties that they will nominate

presidential candidate after mutual understanding. However, after the announcement of PPP candidate without consultation with PML-Q, Shujaat's party nominated their separate candidate for the slot.
In the recent telephonic conversation, both leaders have decided to contact again over the matter in coming days.
