Road mishap claims 6 lives near Dera Ismail Khan

Dera Ismail Khan, (news agencies): At least six people were killed on Monday when a passenger van and a truck collided near Dera Ismail Khan, a district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials said.
The police officials said Monday’s accident took place on a section of the highway outside the city near Yark police station.
Officials said the passenger van was overtaking another vehicle when it slammed into an oncoming truck. The van was completely destroyed.
The van was coming from Bannu and was on its way to Dera

Rescuers moved 7 injured passengers to Dera Ismail Khan hospital. All were in serious condition.
Pakistan has a well-developed highway system but drivers often ignore basic safety rules.
