PTI CEC welcomes elections results despite hurdles

Islamabad,: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insasf (PTI) Imran Khan, Friday, welcomed everyone and congratulated them on the results of the election, despite handicaps; it was a record breaking result.
“PTI had no seat in 2008 elections and could win only one seat in 2002 general elections, yet it made great achievement in May 11 elections. The turnout was also unprecedented especially in cities”, Imran Khan said while addressing a meeting of party Central Executive Committee here.
”Amongst our achievements: wiping out of ANP; broke trade two party system and became second largest party in Pak; came 2nd in 123 seats with 80 percent new faces” he added saying, “We did 2 unique things: one, intra party elections; so, two, clearly

party has great potential. PTI is poised to becoming a truly federal party. Need to do a lot of work especially in Sindh and Balochistan.
He spoke about party discipline. Need to have a proper committee. Also spoke about complaints committee and intra party election analysis.
Imran admitted PTI has not become a team yet! Said perhaps some of it is his fault perhaps. Leader should never make decisions on "main" but on merit. He asked everyone to work as a team - recognizing everyone's strengths and weaknesses. We accept we are a different party and work in a democratic egalitarian critical fashion but should be careful of passing allegations publicly.
Khan reminded everyone that all our accts are always audited. Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, President Javed Hashmi, General Secretary Pervez Khattak, Additional Secretary General Saifullah Khan Niazi, Central Information Secretary Dr Shireen Mazari and other party leadership attend the meeting.
