DSP Banaras Circle told Geo News that the gunmen attacked the police check post near Abbas Terminal on Ring Road where the policemen were performing their duty. Two of the three gunmen got off the motorcycle and opened fire on the check post, killing two policemen.
The gunmen fled from the scene following the attack, while the police launched a search operation in the area.
The bodies of the deceased policemen Sajan and Usman were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.
