IIUI to launch Zero Tolerance Policy Against Plagrism

ISLAMABAD,: President International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Dr. Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh has said that students should conduct research work in a creative way, to make research more original; university would launch zero tolerance policy against plagiarism.
This he stated during his address in a workshop, titled “Higher Education Commission policy of plagiarism and its software Turnitin” organized by Quality Enhancement Cell of IIUI at central library of the university.
Munir Ahmed Deputy Director (Quality Assurance Division) from HEC a focal person for all Pakistani Universities regarding plagiarism was guest speaker while workshop was also attended by Director QEC of

university Dr Irshad Ahmad Arshad Deans, Directors, faculty members and large number of research students of university.
Dr Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh said that Plagiarism is kind of theft which is strictly prohibited in Islam and actor is to be considered to get punishment.
“Ethically and morally, Plagiarism is worst thing that spoils the originality of work” IIUI President said.
He urged participants to adopt a way of creativity in research work rather to copy others’.
He assured that IIUI would follow the policy of HEC on plagiarism strictly.
He added, in order to produce original and quality work, IIUI would launch zero tolerance policy against plagiarism.
President also informed that currently university giving research incentives to the researcher and also considering for enhancing these incentives in future.
 He thanked QEC team for organizing such workshop on plagiarism awareness for the research.
Earlier, Mr. Munir Ahmed gave a detailed presentation on HEC plagiarism policy and briefed about complete roadmap of Plagiarism Prevention.
He said that HEC providing maximum support to universities for doing proper research.
