PM’s China Visit will begin a new era of economic closeness: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD : Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has expressed the confidence that that the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to China will help begin a new era of economic closeness between the two countries.
In an interview, he said basic aim of this visit is to further strengthen political and economic relations between the two countries. He said this visit will give new impetus to Pak-China political and economic relations.
Ahsan Iqbal said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will review the economic structure of China with a view to implement revolutionary measures for Pakistan's economic development.
The Minister hoped that with the visit of Prime Minister

to China their strategic partnership will also be further strengthened and expanded.
He hoped that this visit will also result in finalizing various development programmes including train and road corridor between Gawadar‚ Karachi and Kashghar.
He said this corridor which will help expedite economic activities in Pakistan will also help China to use it for promotion of its trade ties with other Asian and other countries. He said this corridor will create new economic opportunities both in China and Pakistan besides rest of the Asian countries.
Ahsan Iqbal said at present the volume of trade between the two countries is twelve billion dollars which will hopefully gain further momentum as a result of this high profile visit.. Agencies
