I still enjoy immunity: Gilani

LAHORE, (Monitoring Desk): Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that he still enjoys immunity in the capacity of being the former premier of the country adding he would not appear before National Accountability Bureau.
NAB  had issued summons to former Prime Minster Yousaf Raza Gilani to appear before NAB on July 18 as part of a probe into the multi-billion-rupee Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) corruption case.
Talking to a private TV channel he said that he is not gone into hiding. “ I am in Lahore in front of everyone and I am being made a victim of

vindictiveness”.
He said that being the former premier of the country he still enjoys immunity and would not appear in front of NAB adding that no court can challenge his immunity.
Earlier, the ex-PM was served three notices regarding the illegal appointment of former Chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Tauqir Sadiq but enjoying the self-created shield of immunity he did not appear before the NAB. However, another former PM Raja Pervez Ashraf had appeared before the NAB investigators and had recorded his statement in June this year.
