UK acknowledges Pakistan’s sacrifices


ISLAMABAD : United Kingdom Secretary of State, William Hague has admitted that people of Pakistan have rendered great sacrifices in war on terror and strongly rejected terrorism.
He expressed these views in a joint press briefing with Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz here on Wednesday.
He enthusiastically reminded that people of Pakistan have shown strong commitment to democracy in recent polls.
William Hague assured that UK would extend all out assistance to boost Pakistan’s economy, adding he reiterated that UK wants to further strengthen its ties with

Pakistan.
“We want Pak-India ties to continue to improve”, Hague mentioned.
Talking on the occasion, Sartaj Aziz thanked UK over supporting its case for access to EU market.
The Advisor disclosed that volume of UK investment in Pakistan is USD 750 million and Indo-Pak relations also came under discussion.
Replying a query, Sartaj Aziz mentioned, “We hope talks between Taliban will begin soon”.
He clarified that Pakistan strongly supports peace process in Afghanistan and it is ready to join hands with the world and to work for restoration of sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
Replying a question, the Advisor said that Institutions and Government of Pakistan have nothing to do with the rumors that Pakistani Taliban joining Syrian civil war.
Such kind of news need to be verified first, Aziz commented.  
The British Secretary of State will also hold talks with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif today (on Thursday.
