CM takes notice ofillegal fishing


QUETTA (Staff Reporter): Balochistna chief Minsiter Dr Abdul Malik Baocoh taking serious notice of illegal fishing and arrival of trawlers in coastal reas of the province from other parts  has said effective legislation would be made to check this practice.
He said this while chairing a briefing by Secretary Fisheries here Wednesday.
Chief Minister said that Balochistan Sea fisheries Ordinance 1971 would be amended accordingly tostop

illegal trawlers along Balochistan coast.
Expressing grave concern over silting at Pasni Fish Harbour he said tenders for dredging would be called within one week. He aid fisheries is backbone of provincial economy and government would mobilize all resources for stability and progress of this sector. He said full attention was being paid to provide necessary facilities to fishermen. A plan would be implemented to upgrade their boats and making them modern. It would cost Rupees one billion.
He called latest report about Jewani, Dam, Pishkan and Sur Bandar within one week.
