Relatives of the deceased, Kiran, placed her dead body on Shalimar Link Road to protest against lack of police action against the accused.
Kiran was brutally assaulted by her in-laws after she gave birth to a baby girl, they alleged. Her family said that police were trying to give it a color of accident to save the suspect.
Protesters accused the police of giving VIP protocol to the accused in lock-up.
Later, they dispersed peacefully after police assured that justice would be done. (Monitoring Desk)
