Our friends, enemies are common, say Britain, Pakistan PMs


ISLAMABAD: British Prime Minister David Cameron declared that Pakistan's enemies were enemies of Britain, Private TV Channel  reported.
Addressing a joint press conference here, the prime ministers of Pakistan and Britain said that the people and the governments' of both the countries have strong ties and the democracies in the two countries have further strengthened it.
Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif on this occasion said that global and regional issues were discussed in the meeting. He added that Britain was a close friend of Pakistan and the economic ties between the two countries would be further strengthened.

3 killed in firing on coach


KHUZDAR: Three persons were killed in firing on passenger coach in Wadh Sunday.
According to details a coach was going to Karachi from Quetta today. When it reached Kaka Heer area of Wadh armed men opened fire on it. As a result three persons including driver Abdul Aziz, Abdul Rauf and another died. Two persons were also injured. They were shifted to Khuzdar

BNP announces demonstrations, shutter down


QUETTA(Staff Reporter) Balochistan National Party has announced to hold demonstration, shutter down and closure of national highways for indefinite period. The announcement was made for end to death squads, change of election results and political situation in the province.

Quetta: Hazara Town suicide blast leaves 28 dead, over 60 wounded


QUETTA(Staff Reporter) Twenty-eight people lost their lives while over 60 others sustained wounds when a suicide bomber blew himself up near an Imam Bargah in Aliabad area of Hazara Town here on Sunday, Geo News reported quoting rescue sources.
Those killed also include two women while women and children are also among the injured, twenty of whom are said to be in critical condition.
According to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), the suicide bomber detonated the explosive strapped to his body when he was stopped from entering the premises of the Imam Bargah Abu Talib.

Peshawar blast death toll reaches 17


PESHAWAR: At least 17 people including a child were killed and 32 others sustained injuries in a powerful blast near Badaber police station, Geo News reported.
Police said militants targeted security forces convoy in the attack.
The dead and injured have been rushed to Lady Reading Hospital. Condition of six injured is said to be critical.
Police and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have cordoned off the area.

Veena Malik hurts foot during film shooting


BANGKOK: Pakistan’s controversial actress Veena Malik was injured during film shooting in Thailand, Geo News reported.
Veena was busy shooting a Bollywood's Kannada film titled ‘Silk’ in Bangkok when she got her foot fractured, however, she completed the scene and later took a break for bed-rest.

Ministry of Petroleum approves hike in CNG price


ISLAMABAD: The Petroleum Ministry Sunday approved a raise in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices, following a 9 percent increase in General Sales Tax (GST) on the commodity, Geo News reported.
According to sources, the CNG price in region 1 (Potohar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan) has been hiked by Rs2.54 to Rs75.48 per kilogram.
On the other hand, CNG price in region II (Sindh and Punjab) has been raised by Rs1.85, pushing it up Rs66.75 per kg. The new prices would be effective from midnight today (night between Sunday and Monday). (Agencies)

Govt announces subsidy on POL products to partially cancel out hike


ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance, Senator Ishaq Dar Sunday announced subsidy on petroleum products, partially cancelling out the hike in their prices, Geo News reported.
He approved a hike of Rs2 per liter in the price of petrol as against the earlier announcement of Rs2.66 increase. Similarly, the rate of diesel has been revised and now the new price will reflect a rise of Rs2.16 a litre.
Dar announced a subsidy of 66 paisas per litre on petrol and Rs1.50 a litre on diesel. (Monitoring Desk)

EU alarmed over alleged US bugging of its offices

Govt pays Rs 322b circular debt to IPPs


ISLAMABAD- The government has paid three hundred and twenty-two (322) billion rupees circular debt to Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to reduce load-shedding.
In an interview on Friday (June 28)‚ Secretary Finance Dr. Waqar Masood Khan said those IPPs who had gone to court have agreed to withdraw the case against the government after payment of their outstanding dues.
He said the IPPs have been asked to enhance power generation to cope with the load-shedding.
It is expected that there will be some respite in loadshedding after the payment made to IPPs. AFP

Govt approves hike in petroleum prices


ISLAMABAD (Monitoring Desk) – Federal government has approved increase in prices of petroleum products from July 1.
According to sources OGRA will issue a notification in this regard on Sunday.
Prices of petrol, diesel and Kerosene oil will to up by Rs 2.66, Rs 3.66 and Rs 2.50 respectively.
The new price of petrol will be Rs 102.43 per liter whereas diesel will be available at the rate of Rs 108.26 per liter.
Similarly, Kerosene oil will now be sold at the rate of Rs.96.29 per liter.  
The new rates will be applicable from July 1.

US providing Israel with more arms


The United States is planning to provide another package of advanced weapons to Israel in a bid to elevate the arms race in the Middle East.
The U.S. State Department said the discussions between the United States and Israel about the arms deal are ongoing, USA Today reported.
Air-refueling aircraft, advanced radars for F-15 fighter jets and up to eight V-22 Ospreys are among the new weapons.
Landing like a helicopter, Ospreys can carry two dozen special operations forces over long distances at aircraft speeds.

Myanmar authorities killed two Muslims in IDP camp: UNHCR


YANGON, : United Nation’s High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) on Friday revealed that atleast two Muslims were shot dead and six others severely injured in firing of security forces at refugee camp here.
The incident took place on Thursday when security forces tried to break up a dispute at the Kyein Ni Pyin camp in Pauktaw area where atleast at least 4,400 displaced people were stationed and among these mainly Rohingya Muslims whose homes were torched in deadly clashes with ethnic Rakhine locals.
UNHCR failed to confirm that whether the slain persons were confirmly Rohingyas as the camp is home to both the ethnic group and Kaman Muslims.
According to a spokeswoman for the UNHCR, "We are appealing to the authorities to handle the matter in a peaceful and calm way to avoid fuelling further violence and loss of life.
A spokesman for Rakhine State government confirmed that two Muslims were killed in the incident. AFP

15 Pakistani teachers to visit Philippines under USAID program


ISLAMABAD: Faculty members from Pakistani universities and senior officials from the provincial education departments gathered today for a send-off reception of the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded study tour for 15 Pakistani teachers to the Philippines.
The study tour will be hosted by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization, Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO-INNOTECH) in Manila, which is a leading education center in Southeast Asia. Nanga Parbat attack: Chinese survivor speaks of ordeal


KUNMING: The survivor who escaped from the pre-dawn terrorist attack in Pakistan's northern Gilgit-Baltistan area held a press conference on Thursday in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province.
Early Sunday morning, a group of gunmen dressed as paramilitary police stormed a base camp for the 8,125-meter snow-covered Nanga Parbat peak, the ninth-highest mountain in the world, and shot dead two Chinese mountaineers, one Chinese American, five Ukrainians, one Russian and one Pakistani guide. Ogra proposes Rs 2.66 per litre increase in petrol price


ISLAMABAD - Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has forwarded a summary to the Petroleum Ministry proposing increase in Petrol price by Rs 2.66 per litre.
Rs 3.66 per litre increase in price of high speed diesel and Rs 3 per litre in diesel while increase in price of high octane by Rs 2.36 has also been proposed by OGRA.
The summary would be approved on Sunday while the new prices would come into effect from July 1.(Agencies)

Circular debt of Rs 326 bn will be paid to IPPs today: Dar


ISLAMABAD - Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that circular debt s first installment of 326 billion rupees will be paid to the Indenpendent Power Producers (IPPs) on today (Friday).
 While addressing the National Assembly, the Finance Minister said that government has decided to give upto 30% relief to the masses during holy month of Ramadan.
 Ishaq Dar said two billion rupees have been allocated for this purpose.

Karachi violence claims 8 lives

KARACH  – Three people including a woman were shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists in Kharadar area. The victims were identified as Fazl Maula, Faisal and Fatima.
Panic gripped the area after the incident and business activity was suspended while the protesters blocked the road by burning tyres.
In another incident, two people were gunned down in Machar Colony and a man was killed near Sarjani Baba Mor.
A dead body was found from Adam Khan Road in Lyari area while another dead body was found from Korangi Veeta. Police claimed that the man was killed last month.

SC adjourns hearing of petition seeking Musharaff trial till July 3

UK may OK creating babies with DNA from 3 people


LONDON (AP) - Britain may allow a controversial technique to create babies using DNA from three people, a move that would help couples avoid passing on rare genetic diseases, the country s top medical officer says.
The new techniques help women with faulty mitochondria, the energy source in a cell, from passing on to their babies defects that can result in such diseases as muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, heart problems and mental retardation.
About one in 200 children is born every year in Britain with a mitochondrial disorder.

نئی دہلی (خبر رساں ادارے )امریکی وزیرخارجہ جان کیری نے کہا ہے کہ پاکستان اور بھارت کو تعلقات کی بہتری کے لئے طویل سفر طے کرنا ہوگا دونوں ملکوں کو ترکمانستان کی گیس سے فائدہ اٹھاناچاہئے ۔نئی دلی میں ایک تقریب سے خطاب کرتےہوئے امریکی وزیرخارجہ کا کہناتھا بھارت اورامریکا کومتعدد چیلنجز کا سامنا ہے ،جن سے مل کر ہی نمٹاجاسکتاہے۔بھارت کا افغانستان میں اہم کردارہے، تاہم ہمسایوں کیساتھ بہترتعلقات قائم کرکے وہ معیشت کودرست سمت پرلاسکتاہے ۔انہوں نے پاک بھارت تعلقات کو مستحکم کرنےپر زوردیا۔ان کاکہناتھاتعلقات بہتر ہونے سے دونوں ممالک کو فائدہ ہوگا ۔جان کیری نے توانائی کے حوالے سے پاک بھارت

سعودی عرب کے صحرا میں راستہ بھٹکنے والا جوڑا ہلاک


ریاض (خبر رساں ادارے ) سعودی عرب کے تپتے صحرا میں راستہ بھٹکنے والا جوڑا موت کی وادی میں چلا گیا، قطر کے اس جوڑے کی اس صحرا میں جائیداد تھی اور وہیں سے یہ دونوں واپس آ رہے تھے۔ سعودی عرب کے تپتے وسیع جنوبی ریگستان میں ایک جوڑا راستہ بھول گیا اور پیاس سے ان کی موت ہو گئی۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق یہ جوڑا قطر کا رہنا والا تھا اور ان کی گمشدگی کی خبر ان کے ایک رشتہ دار نے پولیس کو دی۔ سکیورٹی فورسز نے ان کو تلاش کرنے کے لیے سرچ آپریشن کیا لیکن وہ ان کو اس وقت ڈھونڈ پائے جب دونوں کی موت ہو چکی تھی۔ سکیورٹی فورسز کو خاتون کی لاش الٹی پڑی گاڑی کے پاس سے ملی جبکہ ان کے شوہر کی لاش دس

لوئر کرم (خبر رساں ادارے )کرم ایجنسی کی تحصیل لوئر کرم میں گاڑی میں دھماکا، ایک شحص جاں بحق 6 زخمی ہو گئے۔سرکاری ذرائع کے مطابق ایک موٹر سائکل جو کہ لوئر کرم کے علاقے صدہ بازار میں کھڑی تھی کہ اچانک دھماکا ہوا جس میں ایک شحص جاں بحق ہو گیا جبکہ چھ زخمی ہو گئے۔زخمیوں کو مقامی ہسپتال منتقل کر دیا گیا ہے۔زخمیوں کی حالت حطرے سے باہر بتائی جا رہی ہے۔سرکاری ذرائع کے مطابق بارودی مواد موٹر کار میں نصب کیا گیا۔دھماکے گاڑی مکمل طور پر تباہ ہو گئی۔

اسلام آباد(خبر رساں ادارے )وزیر اعظم نے نجم سیٹھی کو قائم مقام چیئرمین پی سی بی مقرر کردیاہے۔پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ ان دنوں ذکاء اشرف کی معطلی کے بعد بغیر چیئرمین کے کام کررہا تھا۔ قائم مقام چیئرمین کی تقرری اسلام آبادہائی کورٹ نے بین الصوبائی رابطہ کمیٹی کو ذمہ داری سونپی تھی۔

کرپشن پر قابو پالیا جائے تو کسی سے قرض نہیں لینا پڑے گا: سراج الحق


پشاور (خبر رساں ادارے )خیبر پختونخوا کے سینئر وزیر سراج الحق نے کہا ہے کہ صوبے کی اصل دشمن کرپشن ہے ۔اس پرقابو پا لیا گیا توکسی سے قرضہ لینا نہیں پڑے گا۔اتوار کے روز خیبر پختونخوا اسمبلی کا اجلاس حسب معمول ایک گھنٹے کی تاخیر سے اسپیکر اسد قیصر کی صدارت میں شروع ہوا۔ چالیس سے زائد اپوزیشن اور حکومتی ارکان نے بجٹ پر بحث کی ۔وزیر خزانہ سراج الحق نے بحث کو سمیٹتے ہوئے کہاکہ اپوزیشن لیڈر سردار مہتاب اوردیگر اراکین کی پیش کردہ تجاویز پر ضرور غور کیا جائے گا ۔ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ہمارا صوبہ 132ارب روپے کا مقروض ہے۔ ٹرانسپرنسی انٹرنیشنل کے مطابق پاکستان میں روزانہ 7ارب سے 15ارب روپے کی 

مدارس پر حملے میں طالبان ملوث نہیں: لیاقت بلوچ


پشاور (خبر رساں ادارے )جماعت اسلامی کے مرکزی جنرل سیکرٹری لیاقت بلوچ نے کہا ہے کہ مدارس پر حملے کرنے والے طالبان نہیں موجودہ حالات میں ہمیں اپنی داخلہ و خارجہ پالیسی تبدیل کرنا ہوگی۔پشاو ر کے المرکز الاسلامی میں جمعیت طلباء عربیہ کی سالانہ پروگرام کی اختتامی تقریب سے بحیثیت مہمان خصوصی خطاب کرتے ہوئے جماعت اسلامی کے جنرل سیکرٹری لیاقت بلوچ نے کہا کہ وزیر خزانہ اسحاق ڈار کو اپنی غلطیاں تسلیم کرتے ہوئے قومی سطح پر نیا بجٹ بنانا چاہیے کیونکہ اس بجٹ کے باعث مہنگائی بڑھی ہے اور عام لوگوں کو مشکلات کا سامنا ہے انہوں نے کہاکہ ہمیں قرضوں کے کشکوک کو ختم کرنے کیساتھ ساتھ خود انحصار 

بلوچستان اسمبلی نے 20 ارب سے زائد کے ضمنی بجٹ کی منظوری دیدی


کوئٹہ (سٹاف رپورٹر )بلوچستان اسمبلی نے مالی سال 2012٫13 کے 20 ارب روپے سے زائد ضمنی بجٹ کو منظور کرلیا۔ جبکہ 2013٫14 کے بجٹ کو مستر کرتے ہوئے اپوزیشن نے بائیکاٹ کیا۔کوئٹہ میں بلوچستان اسمبلی کا اجلاس دوروز کے وقفے کے بعد اسپیکر جان محمدجمالی کی صدارت میں شروع ہوا۔ تلاوت قرآن پاک کے بعد وزیر اعلی بلوچستان ڈاکٹر عبدالمالک بلوچ نے تخمینہ جات ضمنی بجٹ سال 2012٫13 کے لئے 20 ارب 58 کروڑ 30 لاکھ 4 ہزارروپے کے مطالبات زر منظوری کے لئے پیش کئے جسکے اسمبلی نے متفقہ طورپر منظورکرلیا۔ اسمبلی
