Ministry of Petroleum approves hike in CNG price


ISLAMABAD: The Petroleum Ministry Sunday approved a raise in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices, following a 9 percent increase in General Sales Tax (GST) on the commodity, Geo News reported.
According to sources, the CNG price in region 1 (Potohar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan) has been hiked by Rs2.54 to Rs75.48 per kilogram.
On the other hand, CNG price in region II (Sindh and Punjab) has been raised by Rs1.85, pushing it up Rs66.75 per kg. The new prices would be effective from midnight today (night between Sunday and Monday). (Agencies)
